OSA's home range is MilCun Training Center
(MilCun Marksmanship
Complex)
|
MilCun Training Center
(MilCun Marksmanship Complex), located
near Minden Ontario Canada, is a private range complex offering full
range services. OSA and OSA members benefit from a very supportive
arrangement with MilCun, where ranges are provided at little or no
charge and range services are provided on a volunteer basis. |

This is the cabin, which is the
primary gathering point for OSA events, and which also provides
classroom space and a lunchroom. |

At right, is Maple Tree Range (MTR), the
100-meter range with mounds at 100, 75 and 50 meters, and a flat apron from
25 meters forward. MTR now has a permanent overhead cover on the
100-meter mound. MTR also has a moving target system. |

This is Hill Top Range (HTR) our
600-meter range, shown here with Keith firing from the 300-meter mound.
HTR has a military-style butts with five target lifters. There are
firing mounds at 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 meters, with parking behind
each mound. |

UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Shown at right, this is Ridge Range
(RR) our 1000-meter range. This picture is taken from about 950 meters,
and you can just see the 6-foot white board we used as a target for our
rangefinder. When complete, Ridge Range will have mounds at 1000, 900,
800 and 700 meters and a military-style butts... although those
electronic target systems are starting to get price-competitive... |

MORE CONSTRUCTION
At right, this is Jack's beautiful Volvo high-hoe scraping the site for
our new home. We are hoping to be able to complete our "home on the
range" by summertime 2010.

OSA runs matches at CF ranges in
Ontario
OSA, in support of our Canadian Forces, runs
Service Conditions matches at CF ranges. OSA civilian members can (and do) compete
in these matches and the OSA team typically does very well.
 |
Much of the time, OSA service
conditions matches are held at Connaught Ranges, near Ottawa. OSA
members also participate in and run the national service conditions matches at Connaught,
and in 2007 OSA members were contracted to run the Canadian Forces Small Arms
Competition (CFSAC) and the Canadian Forces Sniper Competition (CFSC). |
|
OSA is also available to host service
conditions matches at other CF ranges. The picture at right shows OSA
members training the CFCST (Canadian Forces Combat Shooting Team) at CFB
Petawawa. |

members ran clinics and courses for various CF teams. In 2010, OSA
